I finally pulled the camera out and took a couple of shots. None of them are great but it IS a sign that spring is almost here ad I will be clicking like mad. There are 3 more days until March Break, one week until the Canada Blooms Show in Toronto AND, whoo hooo, eleven more days until spring officially makes it's return appearance.
This past weekend we set our clocks ahead ~ spring forward. I am so slow to adapt, and am not a morning person so getting up, and staying out of bed at 5:45 'yesterday' time is sheer hell for me. Sure, the days are longer BUT it is still dark in the mornings. You just can't win here. :-) I got up yesterday morning, and we had a wild storm during the night. the rain and ice pelted against the windows and on the roof and the winds were wild! Then there was another 3 inches of the dreaded white stuff on the ground. Sigh! I persevered, got to work on time and in a relatively perky mood and - well you know what! it's great now. A little pain and a LOT to gain :)
I headed out to the big city of Barrie on Saturday. Now for a Toronto area gal, calling the lovely city of Barrie, (pop 130,000) "the big city" is something since The GTA has a population of 4 - 5 million. They have nice shops and I had some Christmas gift certificates to spend.
I had my unruly hair done at a wonderful hair salon downtown and then hit the mall.
After a search I found 4 Spode tea mugs in a pretty polka dot, some nice spring-ish polka dot tea towels, my spring plate to show on my china cabinet and I tried the fancy shmancy teas from the Teaopia store.

I am trying two from their wellness line and one Ceylon black tree, and of course have the tea master to make my tea in. :) I did splurge and by one of those bouquet teas so when i do try it I will post a picture.

Hi Deb! It sounds like you are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel!! Here, we had snow last weekend...you are laughing at our pitiful 2 inces...and today it was 80 degrees!! Hang in there!!!...Debbie
ReplyDeleteHi Deb...Still snowing there? We had a few wonderful days in the high 70's...like May!! And now it's in the 30's. :-( Spring always does that here...teases us. I'm sure we'll have one more hard freeze as usual. Have a great weekend...Debbie
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder. It should be toe nail season as an ode to spring! It might bring it in faster.
