I have had some fun here trying to start this blog but there are times where I absolutely am at a loss for words! What's that?? Me..a loss for words!! ;) lol...I have spent hours browsing and love all the wonderful ideas to share .
My original intention was to have my own little 'corner of the net' where I could post some thoughts, ramblings, recipes, great finds and of course pictures. I don't feel the need to share everything about my thoughts and feelings, rather just to comment on things I like.
Sooooo....I like cottage life, the beach, my kitties, gardening, teacups, reading, great decorating ideas, recipes, decorations... all things warm and fuzzy. :) So many of you have amazing things to share. I draw a blank at being creative, I see something in a magazine I like and I try to copy some of the ideas.
I was lucky and saw Rachel Ashwell, Goddess of all things Shabby and Chic, in Toronto and one things she said stuck with me - you just need to start with one great piece of furniture that you love and go from there. It will always be a work in progress and a labour of love. Sounds good to me. I have a few pieces I treasure.
As I said in my About Me on the left sidebar -----> I finally moved to the cottage, at a young age ;) (I wasn't about to wait like my parents generation until I was old and retired. This is a
new phase of my life, one that required significant downsizing and adjustment. You know...life happens but you just go forward with a smile and a dream :)
Two years ago,I owned a four bedroom home in the suburbs (with lots of space), a cottage and have downsized to a two bedroom cottage, without much storage. Sheesh, two years ago I had three couches, ..today I have none, but I'm taking the time to find that perfect new couch.
So I am here, I am finally at the cottage.calm :)
Trip to Ottawa: the birthday celebration!

Hi
ReplyDeleteYou're lucky to have been able to leave the city life and move to the country. That would be so nice. I have had to downsize also but I'm not sitting by a lake or the cottage. We do have a spot on a lake up north as well.
Hopefully you aren't getting too much snow your way although that makes for a good reason to sit inside and do other things...unless you are dressed warm and adventurous enough to go out into the cold.
Keep warm...have a nice evening.
