View from top of Niagara Escarpment looking east to the grain elevator in Collingwood and over Nottawasaga Bay/Southern Georgian Bay
I've done some sightseeing and touring around the area to enjoy the season. One late afternoon I drove along the the Niagara Escarpment through small hamlets and villages and along the Pretty River Road and ProvincialPark.

One place I love to stop at is Loretta and Mylar's in Singhampton.
I felt as though the ghosts had invited me for tea :)<
Mylar's and Loretta's Restaurant is on County Rd 124 north of Shelbourne and about 5 kms west of Creemore. It used to be a stagecoach stop and very charming with great atmosphere and nice homestyle meals on the menu. One highlight for me is the ladies' room - am I THAT old ;) - it is so pretty and each stall has a chandelier AND a mirror, dried flowers, lovely room scenters, soaps and candles. Quite an experience. :0)
I had a bowl of soup, a pot of tea but the rice pudding looked yummy. I've heard the bread pudding is to die for. This is a definite stop on a fall drive. You can tour, Town of Blue Mountain, Thornbury, the Scenic Caves, Creemore, Duntroon..all along the escarpment and then stop for lunch. :) It's such a warm and cozy place and if you are lucky you may see the ghost of Mylar.
The link is disabled but the story is that Mylar married Loreta in Scotland before he came out to Canada in the 1860's. He settled in Singhampton and sent for his bride but her ship was lost at sea and she was never seen again. They say you can sometimes see Mylar in the dining room, at the bar, in the kitchen, on the back deck and often things from the kitchen go missing.:0)

What an interesting tour! I worked at a camp just outside of Collingwood one summer many, many years ago. It was nice to revisit via your photos!
