I have been going crazy clicking away with my camera. I just love May and June. Everything is still so fresh, green and lush. The trees are in bloom, the flowers are growing, I can smell the lilacs everywhere, everyone's gardens are bursts of colour with new flowers every week and the garden centres are busy, busy, busy!
I have been slow to start my containers and annuals because there was a slight risk of frost this week. It didn't actually get below 0, but the nights were cool. The days have been up to 20 (68F) and even a bit warmer inland from the bay. There is still a cool breeze coming in off the bay as it holds the cold longer in the spring, yet holds the warmth later in the fall. It can be a couple of degrees warmer by the bay in October. :0)
I am seeing more people around here during the week and more people are coming down to what used to be the boat ramp to watch the sunset. I love it. The sun shimmers across the water as is very slowly drops 'into the bay'. The colours are stunning and photographs don't always do it justice. What is even nicer is the glow of the sun, the reds, oranges, pinks and purples, long after sunset. the sky is still light around 9:45.
Did I mention I LOVE June!
